ANDRITZ wins contract to restore Nam Theun-I hydropower plant in Lao PDR

ANDRITZ has secured a major contract to restore plant components and services for the 2×260 MW Nam Theun-I hydropower project in Bolikhamxay Province, Lao PDR.

The scope of the contract includes the supply of comprehensive plant instrumentation, local control panels, and critical automation systems such as control, governor, protection, and static excitation systems. The project follows flooding caused by Typhoon Bualoi in September 2025, presenting tight timelines for the early restoration of both units—highlighting ANDRITZ’s agility and technical expertise.

This assignment further strengthens ANDRITZ’s long-standing partnership with Nam Theun 1 Power Co. Ltd. (NT1PC), which began with the successful delivery of the complete electromechanical works in 2016. NT1PC’s renewed confidence underscores ANDRITZ’s engineering excellence, reliability, and proven execution capabilities.
