Qatar Section of Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society, had recently conducted its 59th technical seminar on “New developments in actuator controls in process industry for achieving higher plant safety”. Lead speaker Thierry Bakker (account manager, ASCO Numatics, Netherlands) highlighted the developments in actuator control and redundant control system using various types of solenoid valves and monitoring devices for increased safety and reliability of the process plants. Asco’s local business development manager Reju George spoke about the company’s activities and its involvement for providing the latest type of actuator controls in process and petrochemical industries. ISA Qatar president Nilangshu Dey presided at the event attended by instrumentation and control engineers of Qatar Petroleum, Qatargas, RasGas, Qafac, Qchem, Shell, Oryx GTL, Dolphin, Qapco, QVC, Qasco, QEWC, SEEF, Worley Parsons, Technip, and other noted engineering and contracting companies in Qatar. Training seminars were also held in Kuwait and the UAE.
