The 422 I.S. Fail Freeze valve is ATEX credited to operate in certified areas and pilot flammable gases rather than compressed air, negating the need to generate compressed air at remote sites. The 422 I.S’s fail freeze capability ensures safe, uninterrupted gas supply to end users by continuing to accurately pilot the gas regulator even in the event of a power outage or signal disruption. During power failure, the valve will continue to regulate at the last set output pressure with a high degree of accuracy.
It operates in the temperature range of -10ºC to +70ºC with a supply pressure of 4 bar, and uses less than 0.15W of energy when adjusting pressure and actually uses no power once in position. Both the linearity and hysteresis are less than 0.5% of span for optimal performance, moreover vibration and orientation have minimal effect on the performance of the valve.
The ATEX IS certification eliminates the need for a pneumatic system at remote sites, providing the designers an option to pipe gas directly from the pipeline to control the system, streamlining the initial installation.
