Auma demonstrates global fieldbus expertise

Three South African fieldbus applications for Auma have demonstrated global fieldbus expertise, world-wide technical support and that the company supports a wide range of protocols.
The latest contract wins to be announced by Auma include the Anglo Platinum sulphuric acid plant, which has been supplied with 70 Profibus DP Matics running on Siemens S7 400 plc’s. For the acid plant application, Auma supplied the South African based plc programming company with demonstration units to minimise on site programming.
A second South African project for Auma is the Saldanha Steel hot strip mill, where five Profibus DP actuators have been selected for use in a valve flow control application. Finally, 48 Auma Modbus RTUs have been purchased by the Midvaal raw water purification plant. The plant, which purifies raw water from a local river source, is controlled by Modicon Momentum Modbus RTU plc’s. Eight filter banks, each comprising six actuators, have been upgraded by Auma to Modbus.
