Auma has secured a contract to supply its electrical actuators to a new combined cycle power plant in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The 775MW plant, located in the SE harbour area of the city, was built by a consortium including ABB. A key reason for the choice of Auma products was the manufacturer’s modular design concept which was recognised as advantageous in simplifying on-site service and maintenance work through separation of mechanical and electrical components via plug & socket connection. The project, which included the automation of manually operated valves, required around 100 electric valve actuators and gearboxes featuring integral motor controls in weather-proof and explosion-proof versions.
