AUMA extends GQB part-turn gearbox range

Electric actuator manufacturer AUMA has added three new sizes to its GQB range of compact part-turn gearboxes, extending the torque range down to 3,000 Nm. The new GQB 80.1, GQB 100.1 and GQB 125.1 sizes join the existing GQB 160.1, GQB 200.1 and GQB 250.1 models to provide torques from 3,000 Nm to 84,000 Nm.

As standard, the new gearboxes are available with three sizes of actuator mounting flange and various reduction ratios. In addition, the three original sizes have also been enhanced with small input flange options and additional reduction ratios. The new sizes and options help operators reduce cost, as smaller and more cost-effective actuators can be used when high torques are not needed.

Launched in 2017 for simple 90° applications with standard butterfly and ball valves, GQB gearboxes combine compact design with exceptional value for money. The integral primary reduction gear and integral mounting flanges considerably reduce the parts count without compromising performance.

Engineered and manufactured in Germany, GQB gearboxes feature high manufacturing quality, overload protection and maintenance-free operation. The compact units are protected from corrosion by a high-quality powder coating including both input and output flanges. Inside, all drive components are hardened for long life.

The gearboxes are ATEX-approved for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

The GQB range complements AUMA’s proven GS part-turn gearboxes, which will continue to be used for demanding applications with special valves and for special requirements, for example in hydropower plants, weirs and dams.
