Automatic balancing valves

Flowcon has engineered a new range of pressure-independent automatic balancing valves. Offering a wide choice of valves and actuators, the range’s main attributes are that it achieves true balancing, automatically adjusting for pressure fluctuations. A self-adjustment feature enables each valve to continuously self-balance. Each Flowcon cartridge can be adjusted to set an accurate maximum flow rate limit to each circuit. An extended choice of cartridges means an increase in the flow range – now from 40 to 16,100 litres per hour – using various cartridges and valve bodies ranging from DN15 to DN50. The SME cartridge (typically for fan coil applications) offers an actuated control valve within a balancing valve. Differential pressure-independent, this two-in-one device combines a full-stroke modulation control valve with an automatic balancing valve. The modulation flow control has 100% authority over the cartridge maximum pre-set flow setting. For larger diameters, up to DN150, the range features Flowcon SH valves, which are externally adjustable, but with a built-in diaphragm. For thermostatic balancing valves, the T-Just cartridge limits the temperature to a maximum set on an external adjustment. The cartridge has a manual override or can be fitted with an actuator for purging Legionella.
