AVK group has acquired a majority stake in the Premier Valve Group of companies based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Premier Valves manufactures and supplies valves predominantly for the water industry in Southern Africa. They are located in a 22,000m2 factory mainly producing valves for bulk water, transmission and control applications. The core product offer is large butterfly, wedge gate and auto control valves. In recent years, they have extended their product offer to service the mining and general industrial markets.
The Premier range of products will continue to be marketed by Premier Valves under its own brand and AVK branded products by AVK Valves Southern Africa. The two companies will work closely together to expand and strengthen the overall position of AVK in the Southern African market. Peter Thomson who has led the business for the past 10 years continues to be the managing director.
