AVK UK awarded a contract with Severn Trent

AVK UK has won the framework contract to supply Severn Trent with all their mechanical fittings requirements. The contract runs for an initial three years with a possible two-year extension.
AVK UK will be Severn Trent’s sole source of supply for mechanical couplers, flange converters, flange adaptors, and encapsulation collars. The products covered by the contract include AVK UK’s fitting brands Supa®, Supa PlusTM, and Supa MaxiTM, up to and including DN700 with larger sizes also available.
Severn Trent serves 8 million people across its region. With a potable water pipeline network of 46,000km, Severn Trent has more pipes than any other water company in England and Wales.
Dean Wheatley is AVK UK’s Business Development Manager for the Supa ranges, emergency repair clamps, and 24/7 repair services. “This is really tremendous news for all those involved in the manufacture and supply of AVK UK’s Supa fittings ranges. The market for mechanical fittings is very competitive, we undertook a wide range of technical product testing and trials with fittings and various pipe materials to identify optimised solutions for Severn Trent over the incumbent supplier. We were also able to demonstrate excellent supply chain efficiencies and both commercial and technical customer service. We believe that these factors, combined with our track record of innovation, enabled Severn Trent to confidently award AVK UK the contract. There will be a short interim period where Severn Trent and its distribution partner, Jewson Civils Frazer, run down their existing stock of fittings. However, I expect the Supa ranges of fittings to be hitting the shelves in quantity in March.”
The Severn Trent framework builds on AVK UK’s contract awards to supply fittings to Yorkshire Water and others.
