Backflow preventers to Meyer Werft

German cruise ship builder Meyer Werft has recently delivered the 93,558gt cruise ship “Pride of Hawaii” to the operator NCL America. The “Pride of Hawaii” which is designed and built for the US-market will take up its cruise service from Hawaii as planned. As a result of NCL’s concept of “freestyle cruising” the new vessel combines a wide variety of restaurants with luxurious interior fittings. Conbraco Industries has supplied their RPZ type backflow preventers to Meyer Werft for several years, to protect their vessels potable water systems, through their exclusive distributor Netherlands -based Vapo Techniek BV, but this was the first vessel to be flagged from a USA port and as such, FDA regulations had to be complied with. To assist Meyer Werft, Conbraco sent FDA approved engineers to the Meyer Werft site in Papenburg, North Germany to train and certify their engineers in installation and testing procedures of backflow prevention devices to FDA standards. Conbraco Industries manufactures valves and accessories for the process, power, chemical, and water industries.
