Balu Forge launches advanced CNC machining line

Balu Forge Industries Ltd has officially begun operations at its new machining facility in Belgaum, Karnataka. The site features advanced 7-axis and 11-axis CNC machines—among the first of their kind to be deployed in the region.

This expansion marks a major step in strengthening Balu Forge’s manufacturing capabilities, especially for demanding sectors such as defence, aerospace, and rail. The new equipment is engineered to produce intricate parts with exceptional accuracy, reduced lead times, and tailored specifications. The machines are capable of handling complex geometries and maintaining tight tolerances, with the ability to machine components up to 2.5 meters long across various materials, including aluminium and titanium.

The precision line is supported by CNC systems sourced from renowned manufacturers in Spain and Germany. It is expected to add up to 12,000 tonnes of annual machining capacity. Key components that can now be produced include turbine blades, valve bodies, impellers, structural brackets, and aircraft landing gear parts.

This launch is part of the company’s broader strategy to grow its footprint in high-end manufacturing by investing in specialized production assets. The new Belgaum facility—spread across more than 46 acres—is a greenfield site designed to accommodate multiple precision lines, with phased commissioning already underway.

Founded by Prehlad Singh Chandock, Balu Forge Industries has grown into one of India’s leading producers of forged and machined parts. Its extensive product range spans components from 1 kg to 1,000 kg and up to 3 meters in length. The company supports a wide array of industries, including automotive, industrial machinery, energy, rail, marine, agriculture, oil and gas, defence, and aerospace.
