BGR Energy Wins Thermal Power Project

Thermal Powertech Corporation India has awarded BGR Energy Systems a balance of plant (BOP) contract for two 660MW supercritical thermal power projects. Under the USD $488.7 million project, BGR will provide design, manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, assembly, testing, inspection, transportation, erection of equipment, civil and structural works, commissioning and guarantee test. The greenfield project will include one coal-handling plant, a sea water-based RO plant and an intake water system from the sea for the makeup water to the plant. The coal-based thermal power project will be funded by a consortium of banks led by Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), and will be located at Krishnapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India.
