Bilfinger secures two maintenance contracts

Bilfinger has secured two high-profile maintenance contracts that significantly strengthen its presence across both offshore and onshore energy operations in the UK. These strategic wins- one with Ithaca Energy’s Cygnus assets and another at the St Fergus SAGE Terminal with Wood PLC- underscore Bilfinger’s role as a key contributor to national energy infrastructure and its continued growth in the sector.

The first award is the Access and Fabric Maintenance Services contract for Ithaca Energy’s Cygnus assets, commencing January 2026. The Cygnus field, located in the Southern North Sea, is the UK’s largest producing gas field and plays a vital role in supporting national energy security. It connects to the Perenco-operated terminal at Bacton and comprises a complex infrastructure of three bridge-linked Alpha platforms.

Additionally, Cygnus Bravo is an unmanned satellite platform situated approximately 7 km northwest of Cygnus Alpha. This award follows Ithaca Energy’s acquisition of Eni’s UK upstream oil and gas assets in 2024, which added the Cygnus field to its North Sea portfolio.

The second award sees Bilfinger securing a Fabric Maintenance and Access Support Services contract at the St Fergus SAGE Terminal with Wood PLC. This marks a return to a key strategic site for Bilfinger and enhances its operational footprint in the region. Bilfinger will strengthen the continuous improvement culture, adding both product and digital innovation over the course of the three-year contract. This includes consolidating data onto a digital solution, introducing new corrosion protection products, and leveraging capabilities across the wider Bilfinger Group for prefabricated insulation products.
