Bimba has introduced a compact rotary actuator that features corrosion resistant components – the Pneu-Turn Rotary Actuator.
Pre-lubricated at the factory for maintenance-free operation, the Pneu-Turn Rotary Actuator is designed with 4301 stainless steel cylinder body for maximum seal life. It comes with an optional adjustable cushion, which helps control deceleration at the end of the rotation. High strength aluminum alloy actuator body and porting ends protect it against corrosion while 4305 stainless steel shaft delivers longer service life and maximum resistance from wear.
The Pneu-Turn Rotary Actuator achieves rotary actuation using a rack and pinion assembly. Much like a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder, it controls the speed of the rotation through the use of flow controls.
Rated for 10.34 bar air, the actuator’s life can be lengthened by applying additional lubrication using an air line mist lubricator or by directly applying oil to the actuator after every 500 hours of operation.
Loosening the three-body retainer screw of the Pneu-Turn Rotary Actuator repositions the ports, enabling it to accommodate any air line configuration. Upon obtaining the desired port position, the screws should be tightened to specified torque values. Meanwhile, a clearance for the pilot diameter should be provided when mounting the actuator on the shaft side of the housing to avoid excessive bearing pressure.
Axial loads of standard models should be applied according to the direction provided on the dimensional drawings.
