Parker Sempress Pneumatic has developed a novel compact binary counter valve with integrated sequence operation that is suitable for a wide application in the transport and food industries for the control of slides, flaps, doors and locks for conveyor systems. The new binary counter valve is available in two versions for pneumatic or electronic actuation. The 5/2-way main valve has a flow capacity of 460 litre/min and operates at air pressures from 4 to 10 bar. This performance enables the unit to operate pneumatic actuators with a bore diameter of up to 80mm. An optional air-pilot actuated version is also available. Designed for use with compressed air, filtered to a minimum of 50um, lubricated or non-lubricated, dried or non-dried, the binary counter valve is pulse operated. Each control signal alternately energises and exhausts the outlet ports. Operation is based on an integrated sequence, with no mechanical binary counter parts. This means that the friction inside the valve is reduced to almost zero, thereby achieving reliability of up to 10 million cycles. Packaged pressure booster sets keep it quiet
