A-Power has begun the construction of a new USD 105 million heat and power generation plant for Jinzhou Mengguzhen Thermo Electric. The two firms signed an EPC contract to build the plant as part of the support for the development of Jinzhou Economic and Technology Development Zone by providing heat to nine manufacturing enterprises and supplying additional electric power in the zone. Three circulating fluidized bed boilers, with a total capacity to consume 240mt of bio-waste per hour, will be included in the plant along with two 25MW back pressure steam turbine generators. Completion date is expected to be in 2012.
