USFilter has been awarded a contract to provide a black liquor concentration plant with the largest capacity in the world in a single line. With a treatment capacity of 1450 tons/hour, the system will be installed at a new pulp and paper plant in Southern China. USFilter’s HPD Systems will supply complete system engineering and the main equipment, and will also supervise the assembly and assist with start-up. The equipment includes nine preheat falling film evaporators, surface condenser, vacuum system, flash tanks, vapor and liquor recirculating piping, stripping system, non condensable gas system, tank farm, pumps, structure, valves, instruments, electrical material and motor control center (MCC). The system will incorporate recent technological improvements, including enhanced condensate quality, optimised stripper integration and improved ash recycling.
