Bray Controls has designed a blow-out proof stem for its Series 40 butterfly valves. The stem will become standard on all Series 40 valves, replacing the old stem design. With the new design, the valves comply with the latest edition of the API 609 code. Available in wafer and lug style bodies, these valves have bi-directional sealing to Ansi Class 150, 300 or 600 ratings. The fire-safe models conform to API 607 latest edition and can control flammable and hazardous fluids in petroleum, petrochemical, chemical and other high-risk applications. Standard body materials are either carbon steel or stainless steel for corrosion resistance. A high-strength 17-4 PH stainless steel valve stem is standard. The actuator mounting flange and stem connection are designed to ISO5211 for direct mounting of Bray actuators. The disc has been engineered to increase flow and reduce resistance. Various body, stem and disc materials are available.
