BSS is helping major electricity provider, British Energy, to reduce its total costs while maintaining or improving quality and service levels at all its nuclear power stations throughout the UK. The Flow Control Division of BSS was invited, together with other suppliers, to work with British Energy on a strategic resourcing initiative across all eight of its power stations. Encompassing a wide range of valves, tubes and fittings, of which the majority are in use by British Energy power stations, BSS was able to provide improved service and a cost saving. The BSS network of sales engineers and branch locations are just two of the benefits the company is able to offer customers such as British Energy. Prompt local service, combined with the cost benefit, ensure that British Energy achieves a co-ordinated approach to the supply of some of its most widely used equipment.
