Subsea 7 buys 8 Forum Energy Technologies’ ROVs

Forum Energy Technologies received an order from Subsea 7 to supply eight work-class remotely operated vehicle (ROV) systems. The ROVs will be delivered through late 2014 and 2015.

The order comprises two Perry XLX Evo 200HP ROVs for Subsea 7’s new-build Heavy Construction Vessel (HCV) and six Perry XLX-C 150HP ROVs for three new-build Pipe-lay Support Vessels (PSVs) for the Brazilian market.

Chancellor gives “vote of confidence”

Advanced Actuators was heralded as an example of the national recovery in manufacturing following a visit by the Chancellor George Osborne this month (February).Visiting the Yorkshire-based hydraulic actuator engineering firm which designs and manufactures actuators for valve control to the oil, gas and power industries across the globe, the Chancellor was “hugely impressed” with the Silsden-based business and its investment in apprentices and the future generations of engineers.“What’s great about this company is that it uses other local companies to make parts for things which are exported around the world and it’s impressive the way they bring on the apprentices in their workforce,” said Mr Osborne.“It’s a real vote of confidence in British manufacturing and the West Yorkshire economy.

KONGSBERG technology supplier for Petrofac vessel

KONGSBERG has been appointed as the supplier and integrator of all electrical, telecom and integrated control systems for the new Petrofac JSD 6000 deepwater derrick lay vessel, to be built at the Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co.

BASF, SINOPEC break ground for INA plant in China

BASF and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (SINOPEC) broke ground on the construction of their isononanol (INA) plant in Maoming Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, Maoming, China. Scheduled for start-up in 2015, the plant, which is the first of its kind in China, will serve the increasing market demand for next-generation plasticisers.
