PDVSA contract

Technip has added a new contract to existing work with PDVSA in its Mariscal Sucre natural gas development. Technip said it would provide supply and installation of subsea flowlines and onshore gas processing equipment for the state-owned Venezuelan company, as well as support for subsea, onshore and offshore facilities.

Nuclear power plant shut down

On September 16th a leak from a valve at the 778MWe Palisades nuclear power plant in Michigan forced the plant to shut down. Workers with parent company Entergy found the leak from the valve in the system that cools Unit 1 around 3 pm EDT.

GTL project

Sasol, together with partners Uzbekneftegaz and Petronas, have signed an investment agreement with the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade for the Uzbekistan government, for the development and implementation of a Gas-to-liquids (GTL) project in Uzbekistan.

Petchem complex

Malaysia has proposed that its state oil and gas company, Petroliam Nasional Bhd., or Petronas, plan build a USD 1.6 billion petrochemical complex with Germany-based BASF SE (BASFY) in Brunei.
Malaysia has also proposed that Petronas's subsidiary, Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd (5186.

Oil export unit

Italy-based Saipem SpA has recieved a contract worth USD 468.5 million to build an oil measuring and control platform at the country's major export terminals in Basra, Iraq. Saipem will complete the engineering, procurement and construction, or EPC, of the project within 22 months.

Clough Downer GLNG contract

The Clough Downer Joint Venture (CDJV) has been awarded a circa USD 600 million unit rate re-measurable contract by Fluor for construction of pipelines, compression facilities and associated infrastructure relating to the Fairview component of the Santos GLNG project, located in the Surat Basin.
