Check Valves overcome installation hurdles

For some valve manufacturers it’s a struggle to demonstrate proper check valve operation for compressor and pump station applications. Even more challenging is demonstrating successful performance for these applications when valves are operated horizontally. Today, horizontal operation is commonly required by end-users, making brand selection and purchasing decisions more difficult due to the limited levels of assurance current models offer.
Cameron set out to design a check valve that could operate with exactness during horizontal operation, as well as to provide proof of its operational ability prior to installation.
A combination of engineering, product knowledge and application experience led the Cameron engineering team to the design and production of the ENTECH DRV-BN Check Valve, which successfully completed stringent API 6A PR2 and API 6D testing in 2011. Using a friction-free, uniquely weighted annular disc, together with a specially tailored spring mechanism, the ENTECH check valve prevents reverse flow and provides end-users with field-tested assurance of successful operation.
