VICI’s new Cheminert Nanovolume HPLC injectors and switching valves bridge the gap between the world of microfluidics and the real world of chemical analysis, facilitating high-resolution HPLC at an unprecedented small scale. The 100µm bore is uniform throughout the flowpath, reducing band broadening and creating less than 25nl of port-to-port volume. New individual fingertight fittings work with a variety of tubing, including PEEK, fused silica (360µm), and 1/32in electroformed nickel. The company’s fast (100msec) microelectric actuator determines accurate positioning without limit switches or customer adjustment. Computer control is facilitated via RS-232 or RS-485 interface.
