CLIMAX Portable Machining & Welding Systems announced a new line of tools designed to handle small-flange facing more safely, efficiently and cost effectively. The company’s new series of Outer-Diameter-Mount Flange Facers offers a new standard in operator safety and application versatility, with features that can increase productivity and minimize downtime associated with flange repairs, especially in the oil and gas, chemical and power generation industries.
“Our new OD Mount Flange Facers are the most flexible and versatile machines on the market”, said CLIMAX President and CEO Geoff Gilmore. “Not only will these new products give operators much more flexibility than other machines, they also completely change the game when it comes to operator safety.”
The new CLIMAX CE-certified, OD Mount Flange Facers are engineered for safety. Most importantly, the feed control is located on the outside of machine, keeping the operator’s hands away from moving parts and preventing injuries. Additionally, an emergency stop allows for quick stops and controlled restarts, while a low-pressure dropout feature prevents unintended re-starts after loss of supplied air pressure. Machining time for small flanges can be decreased by as much as 30% thanks to productivity enhancements built into the machine’s design.
