Bio-Chem Valve has introduced a new line of manifold mountable inert solenoid pumps and valves. The components, available in the UK and Europe from Omnifit, employ a threaded mounting collar to secure them to the manifold. Based on a design that has been in use for over 20 years, the locked-in threaded mounting collar is hand tightened into the manifold port to ensure an even load on the gasket seal for pressures up to 1.38bar. By positioning the pump or valve closer to the point of fluid introduction, the screw-in design has the additional functional advantage of minimising internal volume. Multiple manifold sizes can achieve flows from 10 microlitres to 2 litres per minute. The valves and pumps can be customised in a choice of PEEK, PPS, Ultem, acrylic, Perfluoroelastomer, EPDM, Viton, or PTFE materials. Alternative materials, customised design modifications, and stand-alone units are available.
