Compressors ordered for Algeria

Peter Brotherhood has secured a GBP 1.85 million contract to supply three reciprocating gas compressors to a gas processing facility jointly owned by BP and Sonatrach in In Amenas, Algeria. Designed and manufactured by Peter Brotherhood, the skid mounted methane compressors will have separate air-cooled oil and water consoles. MW Kellogg, which will supply some of the ancillary equipment such as the gas coolers and relief valves, placed the order with Peter Brotherhood. Each machine will have a local control panel linked to a remote central panel. Peter Brotherhood has many years’ experience supplying API 618 reciprocating gas compressors to refineries, petrochemical plants and process industries around the world. The company won the contract because it could demonstrate a good record of on-time delivery and a technically superior product. The compressors will operate under severe ambient conditions and Peter Brotherhood was also able to demonstrate experience in this field. The two-throw, two-stage machines are due for delivery in May 2004 and will operate under desert conditions.
