Consolidated launches dual media spring-loaded SRV

Baker Hughes, Consolidated announces the launch of the 1900 Series Dual Media (DM), the overpressure protection industry’s First to Market and only “Dual Certified” Spring-Loaded Safety Relief Valve. The innovation and technological differentiation this new product brings to the customers furthers Consolidated reputation as pioneers in the overpressure protection industry.
The patented technology of the 1900 Dual Media trim design is fully “Dual Certified”, as defined by API Standard 520 Part 1 – Sizing and Selection, 10th Edition, and certified following ASME B&PVC Code Case 2787. The “Dual Certified” Spring-Loaded Safety Relief Valve is widely believed by leading overpressure protection experts around the world to be the Spring-Loaded PRV of the Future. Engineering firms, PRV consultants, and end-users alike will move to standardize their PRV specifications to align with this latest edition of the API 520 Standard.
API 520 Part 1 defines Dual Certified as pressure relief valves that are both vapor/gas flow certified, and liquid flow certified where dual certification is achieved without making any modifications or adjustments to the relief device when switching fluids during the flow testing.
The right valve for the right application is a critical determination that must be made for a PRV which acts as the last line of defense in case of over pressurization. However, how can the right valve be confidently specified in situations where multiple applications and cases must be covered by a single valve?” Notes Matt Byers, Consolidated – Director, Product Management. “The technological step change of the 1900 Series DM trim offers a win/win scenario for the overpressure protection industry, enabling risk mitigation in multi-case relief scenarios and/or two-phase media applications with a single economical valve.”
