ContraFlex KZ secures major project at Karabatan plant

AIS is delighted to announce that its joint venture, ContraFlex Kazakhstan (ContraFlex KZ) has secured a major project win for PFP (passive fire protection) and insulation jackets.

The joint venture in the region, ContraFlex KZ, has won a major order to deliver ContraFlex® PFP and insulation jackets to KCOI (Kazakhstan Caspian Offshore Industries) and its customer NCOC (North Caspian Operating Company). The project is the Long Term Slugcatcher Project (LTSP), which will see the existing slugcatchers removed and replaced at the Karabatan onshore plant during a major shutdown in October.

In 2022 ContraFlex KZ provided PFP jackets to NCOC for the old slugcatcher, following repairs. Turnaround time was vital to minimise shutdown time for the customer. 400m² of jackets were manufactured and delivered in 19 days, minimising the shutdown and saving the customer significant costs. ContraFlex KZ has repeatedly shown that it can do things in a country that no one else could achieve, and this was instrumental in securing the new order for the LTSP project. The new project requires 2,000m² of PFP, as well as additional insulation jackets.
