Conversion to LNG fuels to reduce CO2 emissions at Ina

In its key manufacturing bases in Japan, KITZ has been converting 100% of its electricity consumption to CO2-free electricity since April 2022, with the goal of achieving a -90% reduction in CO2 emissions across the domestic group companies by 2030.

Bunker A and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) were previously used at Ina Plant as energy for boilers and heaters. To accelerate the reduction of CO2 emissions, a storage tank for LNG (liquefied natural gas) was constructed in October 2022, and fuel conversion started in January 2023.

KITZ is aiming to achieve its long-term environmental vision through adapting energy sources with lower environmental impacts.
