Danfoss is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its SVL valve portfolio, the family of manual valves covering five key functions: Stop Valve (SVA), Regulating Valve (REG), Filter (FIA), Check Valve (CHV), and Stop-Check Valve (SCA). While Danfoss introduced industrial refrigeration valves in the 1950s, the foundation for the modern SVL product line was established in 2000.
Torben highlights that producing all SVL valves in-house has been central to the portfolio’s success. Valves undergo rigorous testing before shipment, including durability tests in on-site or affiliate laboratories and systematic field tests in real-world installations. All production facilities adhere to industry standards such as ISO 21922-2021, PED, CRN, BV, and DNV.
The SVL portfolio has evolved to meet the demands of larger industrial refrigeration systems. In response, Danfoss introduced new SVL valves approved for up to 65 bar in 2018 and up to 140 bar in 2022, suitable for transcritical CO₂ systems. As system size and scale increase, so does the value of reliable, high-performance SVL valves.
