Dense phase pneumatic conveying is the ideal method of transferring abrasive, friable, or mixed-batch materials. The system design transports the material along a pipe in a plug form at relatively low velocities, which means less wear and tear on both the system and the materials being conveyed. The design also promotes the efficient use of compressed air or other inert gases, ensuring lower power consumption and operating costs.
The ORBINOX ‘CW’ series high integrity knife gate valve technology was selected for use as dense phase pneumatic conveying valves on a demanding process application. The valves were fitted with the proprietary PneuLINK™ linear-to-rotary integrated control platform. The Valve Position Monitor acts as an integral junction box, reducing site cabling and installation costs. The open / closed position BEACON indicator, with 360° colour coding for maximum visual impact, offers instant visual recognition of the valves position from all vantage points up to 50 metres.
