As of 1 January 2019, Dr. Thorsten Pötter will assume the position of Chief Digital Officer (CDO) at SAMSON AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT in Frankfurt, Germany. He will be responsible for IT operations and continuing the expansion of the digital infrastructure along the company‘s entire value chain. Dr. Pötter will succeed Mr. Peter Knapp in this position, who left the company on 31 July 2018.
Dr. Thorsten Pötter has held various positions within Research and Development, Business IT and Operational IT at Bayer AG. In his last position, he was head of the Manufacturing IT in the Engineering & Technology division at Bayer AG. He has made significant contributions to the development of the automation and digitization strategy and its implementation for production both at Bayer AG and as a member of representative boards and advocacy groups.
