Drehmo GmbH will supply all electric actuators, smart-range DREHMO MATIC C, for the upgrade of the filtration plant at Vereeniging pump station, Rand, South Africa. The actuators are equipped with smart torque & position sensor combined with LEARN features and PROFIBUS DP interface. Via this BUS-interface all the instruments including actuators are linked to the PLC, supplied from Schneider Electric, type Quantum and to the DCS system. The client, Rand Water, is supplying drinking water to roughly 20 million people in the Rand area around Johannesburg. This plant, equipped with smart actuators connected with a fieldbus interface, is the first one of its kind in the water market within the Southern Africa region. The supply includes on-off inching and modulating actuators for gate valves, butterfly valves and penstokes.
