Dresser Masoneilan® supplies oil sands project

Dresser Masoneilan® has been named the steam conditioning and turbine bypass system supplier for an unconventional oil mining and extraction project in the Athabasca Oil Sands in Alberta, Canada. The project is expected to begin producing 100,000bpd in late 2012. It has the potential to produce up to 345,000bpd with future expansions, helping to offset declines in conventional oil production and meet North America’s energy demands for many years to come. Dresser Masoneilan will provide steam pressure reducing valves, desuperheaters and associated equipment required for the project’s steam conditioning and turbine bypass systems. The company will also supply operational service and support for the life of the mines. Dresser Masoneilan’s SteamForm® conditioning stations will ensure the ongoing operation of the plant by delivering proper steam pressure and temperature control to critical systems while also providing steam turbine protection in the event of an emergency shut-down or maintenance.
