Econosto valves for a historic ship

HMS Clyde, the first complete ship to be built in Portsmouth’s Naval Base for nearly 40 years, has been constructed using around GBP 200,000 worth of valves supplied by Leicester-based valve specialist Econosto UK Ltd. Econosto’s client, VT Shipbuilding, moved to GBP 50 million facilities in 2003 and the recent launch of the Royal Navy’s new 80m Offshore Patrol Vessel Helicopter (OPVH), marks the revival of shipbuilding in Portsmouth since the launch of HMS Andromeda in May 1967. Econosto supplied all the valves used in the construction, with the majority going into the utility areas of the vessel.
