Emerson are pleased to announce that Valve Automation – Hengelo, their site in the Netherlands has been the recent recipient of the EMERSON 2012 COO International Safety Award.
Hengelo, along with Embedded Power– Fuyong, China were recognized out of 5 possible site finalists with Valve Automation, Mansfield being on the 5 can date finalists also considered. The prestigious award was presented to Dan Button by President and COO of Emerson, Edward Monser at the recent Emerson Corporate Planning Conference in St. Luis.
As a winner, the Hengelo site and staff received 199 out of a possible 200 points, receiving a noteworthy perfect 100 score for the walk around portion of the assessment. Particular positive observations that were highlighted during the overall audit included the management and employee commitment throughout the process, monthly safety committee walks to review procedures and past reports, a robust but continuously improving safety process and a high level of documentation and organization.
Emerson stated that the abovementioned achievements represent ideas, processes and programs that all of their sites should recognize and implement as ´best practice´ in order to keep employees, facilities and communities as safe as can be.
