Emerson Process Management has won a USD 7 million automation project from Petrobras. The project will expand and upgrade all instrumentation and controls at Petrobras’s largest refinery, Replan. By selecting Emerson’s PlantWeb digital plant architecture with Foundation fieldbus technology, Petrobras expects to increase production at the refinery by 7% above its current 352bpd level. In addition, Emerson will upgrade instrumentation at the 151 million bpd Regap refinery. The project also includes engineering and project management services. The Petrobras’s PlantWeb installation will include Emerson’s DeltaV digital automation system with control software and AMS predictive maintenance software. Emerson will also employ its new migration products and services to convert existing distributed control systems and programmable logic controllers manufactured by other companies.
