Emerson’s new valve actuator

Emerson Process Management’s new Bettis WellGuard™ pneumatic control, fluid-powered linear valve actuator was announced at the Global Petroleum Show in Calgary. The WellGuard Actuator is used with Bettis valve bonnets to provide open and close controls for major brands of API 6A through-conduit reverse-acting gate valves. The product is ideal for use on oil and gas wellheads and on production flow lines.
The WellGuard actuators can be used with API 6D and ANSI B16.34 valves where the bonnets are built to the Bettis design. The WellGuard is suitable for use in H2S and CO2.
The WellGuard product line has been created with versatile operating capabilities. Diaphragm models are available for either onshore or offshore use in 10-inch through 18-inch diameters, suitable for valve sizes 1-13/16″ through 4-1/16″ API. Piston operated models, with an internal override suitable for onshore use, are available in 10″ through 14″ diameters, for valve sizes 1-13/16″ through 2-9/16″. Piston models in 10″, 14″ and 18″ sizes, suitable for offshore use on valve sizes 1-13/16″ through 4-1/16″, will be available in the near future. The WellGuard is also available in hydraulic models. The WellGuard products are manufactured in the Bettis facility in Edmonton, Alberta and are marketed world-wide.
