A new type of shutoff valve from ESE has a completely unobstructed flow channel without seals or metal in contact with the fluid, and with little or no pressure drop though the valve. Each valve has a removable flow element which is pinched by a manual or pneumatic actuator. These flow elements are available in a range of materials, including silicone and both Sta-Pure and Chem-Sure materials. When the elements are replaced, a completely new valve is created. Cleaning can be CIP or steam-in-place. Free Flow valves are available in three sizes – 0.5in, 0.75in and 1in – in stainless steel or titanium.
