ESMA launches low-emission needle, ball valves

ESMA has developed a range of low-emission needle and ball valves with graphite and thermoplastic PEEK seals – providing fire-safe operation, as well as other advantages including operation over wider temperature ranges.

In addition to this, the valves have Shell’s Type Acceptance Testing (TAT) certification and are listed on the Shell Technically Accepted Manufacturers And Products (TAMAP) database.

The valves can be integrated in two styles of flanged double-block-and-bleed or block-and-bleed valve in the popular monoflange form with the valves integrated into a slimline flange body, and in Pro-Bloc flange-to-flange form. Both styles dramatically reduce size and weight compared with the traditional approach of using discrete piping class valves to interface an instrument to a process pipeline.

These manifold-related products stem from Parker’s Enterprise Framework Agreement with Shell as a single source supplier for the provision of instrumentation valves, manifolds, process-to-instrument valves, fittings, tubing, protective enclosures and related products. Parker believes that this design innovation – based around Shell’s MESC standardization system – would save significant engineering and installation time and costs for users.
