Farris Engineering (Brecksville, Ohio, USA) has introduced version 4.2 of its SizeMaster™ Mark IV Pressure Relief Valve Engineering Software. The software, for Windows®, brings integration of standard engineering practice to the job of sizing and selecting pressure relief valves. The program calculates the pressure relief valve orifice area required to relieve any process scenario or combination of scenarios under best-case and worst-case conditions. Version 4.2 features Omega 2-phase sizing (D.I.E.R.S.), noise and reaction force calculations, and multiple valve sizing. The software package includes a CD as well as installation and use instructions. Farris Engineering designs and manufactures a wide range of spring-loaded and pilot-operated pressure relief valves in ISO 9000-certified facilities in the US, Canada and the UK. Farris valves, a division of Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Corporation, is in operation world-wide in the hydrocarbon processing, petrochemical, natural gas production, and general processing industries.
