FCx Orton (part of FCx Manufacturing) has secured a major contract to supply six 56” advanced MV series metal-seated triple eccentric valves to one of Italy’s largest steel mills. Valves will be tailor-made to the requirements of the customer for the ILVA mill in Taranto. They are some of the largest yet manufactured by the Piacenza-based manufacturer and distributor of performance flow control products and solutions.
The order is worth around EUR 250,000. The valves will be utilised as main isolators on the flue gas discharge line. Flue gas has a high degree of solid particles which tend to solidify if the valve is left closed for long periods, hence FCx Orton’s valves will be equipped with flushing ports through which high-pressure steam can be injected to clear any solid build-up.
