FCX Thompson contracts

FCX Thompson Valves has secured a number of contracts in both the oil & gas and nuclear industries. The company – part of the global FCX group of flow control solution providers – will supply Maxseal IC02S solenoid valves to Karachaganak Oil and Gas in Kazakhstan. The order is for 550 units designed and approved to operate at – 45 C. In addition, the company will supply its Maxseal IC04S EExd solenoid valves to the Sakhalin 2 project in the CIS. All products ordered are designed and approved to meet the low temperature requirement of – 40 C.
Woodside Oil and Gas of Australia has selected FCX Thompson Valves to supply Maxseal IC02S pilot operated solenoid valves for the upgrade of their Goodwin A offshore platform. The valves will incorporate a specially designed safe position sensor specified by the customer and will be supplied through sister group company FCX Pegler Beacon in Perth.
The company has also been awarded contracts totalling GBP 1 million to supply NHI nuclear bellows sealed globe and Ashford bellows sealed instrument valves and manifolds for the Cernavoda 2 nuclear power plant in Romania. The contract was awarded to AECL Canada, who will construct the second CANDU nuclear reactor at the Cernavoda site.
