FCx Truflo wins contract for destroyers

A consortium led by FCx Truflo Marine has secured a major contract to supply actuated and manual valves on the new Type 45 Anti Air Warfare Destroyers being designed, engineered and built by BAE Systems for the UK Ministry of Defence. The consortium, which includes FCx Truflo Marine, FCx Orton, Emerson Process Management, Broady Flow Control and Young & Cunningham, has been selected to supply all valves aboard. This will mean FCx Truflo Marine will manage a large proportion of third-party suppliers as well as manufacturing products directly. All the ball, butterfly, gate, globe, check and control valves and electric actuators used in the packages will be rigorously tested to ensure they are shock-proof for Naval service, and can perform to their maximum ability in even the most trying conditions at sea. FCx Truflo Marine will be managing the technical compliance, certification and supply of the product during the construction of the vessels, which is expected to last a minimum of six years.
