FF student scholarships announced

Fieldbus Foundation has announced the 2007 recipients of the James O Gray Fieldbus Foundation Educational Scholarship. The program honours the memory of James (Jim) Gray, a long-time leader in the Fieldbus Foundation who passed away in 2002. It establishes a perpetual USD 250,000 endowment fund providing awards to eligible students studying industrial automation. The 2007 scholarship recipients include: Kenneth Ng Choon Guan, Singapore Polytechnic, Singapore. In his third year of study towards a diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Kenneth has a strong interest in fieldbus technology, and in instrumentation and automation control. From the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), in Canada, Jan Krak, who is a Czechoslovakian-born military pilot-engineer. Jan has flown three different types of military fighters, and gained First Class Military Fighter Pilot status after nine years of service. And Akira Uehara from the Waseda University in Tokyo. Akira is a first-year Master Course student studying Process Diagnosis Techniques, with a special interest in diagnostic techniques as a function block of Foundation technology.
