Fieldbus controller for remote monitoring

A new fieldbus controller for remote monitoring, which features a built-in GSM modem and increased I/O capacity, has been introduced by Carlo Gavazzi. Aimed at applications in the water, traffic, HVAC control and energy management industries the controller offers new options for monitoring and control of remote stations. Dupline’s new fieldbus controller from Carlo Gavazzi enables users to link multiple controllers in an upper level network via RS485 or Ethernet to build a network with thousands of possible I/O points. Automatic data exchange between devices allows any I/O point in the entire network to be accessed by individual controllers. I/O points can be read and controlled from a PLC or PC via the two COM-ports on each device using the Modbus protocol. The built-in GSM modem opens up further new opportunities for monitoring and control of remote stations. The unit can be configured to send out event-based SMS messages to one or several mobile phones and digital and analogue Dupline data can be read and controlled the same way. The GSM modem also allows data exchange with a central PC enabling remote control and monitoring via the Internet.
