APC Valves offers UL/FM Butterfly valves and fire protection products such as inlet breechings. The water feed from the fire pump is routed to the Dry Riser system through an inlet breeching installed at fire brigade level outside the building.
The inlet breechings are housed in a locked red protective box. During emergencies, the fire crews break the glass panel to access to the hose connection.
Ideally the inlet breeching should be positioned to the rising to minimise pressure loss- a common problem when dealing with high-rise buildings.
Consideration for fire fighter safety should be paramount when deciding on an installation position for the inlet breeching. Ideally it should be in an easily accessed location such as along a service road large enough for vehicular access and away from fallen debris or hazardous obstructions.
Delta Fire offers a comprehensive range of dry riser inlet breechings and they are available as a single, 2-way or 4-way pumping in breeching and comply fully with the requirements of BS5041 Part 3. The bodies are manufactured from spheroidal graphite iron and all fittings are in gunmetal making these inlet breechings extremely durable.
