Flexitallic, the manufacturer and supplier of specialist sealing products and services, has produced one of its largest ever Flexpro Kammprofile gaskets for an innovative renewable energy plant. Measuring approximately 4m in diameter, the gaskets will be utilised within a re-gassifier system at a new energy from waste plant being constructed in the North East of England.
The gaskets, which were manufactured at Flexitallic’s production facility in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire, are one of a range of sealing products supplied by the company for the new plant, all of which feature the company’s high-temperature Thermiculite® material. Exclusive to Flexitallic, Thermiculite gasket material was developed over a 15-year period for use in critical services applications, from cryogenics to temperatures in excess of 1000°C. Comprised of thermally and chemically exfoliated Vermiculite, a versatile, inorganic, non-oxidising mineral, Thermiculite demonstrates considerable versatility.
Paul Marray, UK sales director at Flexitallic, said, “Flexitallic is leading the way in the development of new sealing solutions that push the boundaries of temperature and pressure that meet and exceed the requirements of evolving industries. This bespoke Thermiculite-faced Flexpro Kammprofile gasket demonstrates our ability to not only react to the requirements of industry, but provide them with an advanced solution, which increases safety and productivity across a plant.”
