Flomatic introduces Model 745SC – 8” swing check valve

Flomatic Valves, a provider of water control solutions, is excited to release the new Model 745SC – 8” swing check valve. To ensure superior performance, reliability, and versatility, this valve is compliant with American Iron & Steel (AIS provisions and meets the requirements of AWWA Standard C508).

The Model 745SC, Surge-Stopper®, is a carefully engineered swing check valve that incorporates a non-slam short stroke design with a rapid closure spring and resilient flapper hinge to reduce disc closing time for fast acting demand. Construction of the valve is done through the use of fusion-bonded, epoxy-coated ductile iron (A536 65-45-12) body, Buna-N flapper (EPDM optional), and stainless-steel spring. This stainless-steel spring (unique to the 745SC) is angled in a 45-degree seating surface to rapidly close the valve through minimized disc travel and prevent slamming during rapid flow reversals.

The design for the resilient seat involves a replaceable one piece molded flapper. This flapper consists of a reinforced flexible hinge and steel flapper disc enclosed in Buna-N rubber. The molded seating surface of the disc makes use of a raised rib seal to provide a line contact with the mating machined seat surface. Combining these features results in a bubble-tight seal under low pressure which is suitable for vacuum service.

The Model 745SC, Surge-Stopper®, is designed for municipal and industrial water and wastewater applications by fully complying with ANSI/AWWA Standard C508 full waterway design. The flat buna cover gasket is designed to ease disassembly for convenient maintenance. Model 745SC can be ordered with a Back Flush Device, Position Indicator, and/or Limit Switch for enhanced versatility.
