Flowserve wins Taishan valve orders

Flowserve Corp. has won a multimillion-dollar order from China Nuclear Power Engineering Co. for main steam isolation valves (MSIVs), main feedwater isolation valves (MFIVs) and feedwater motor-operated valves for China’s Taishan 1&2. Flowserve’s MSIVs and MFIVs are designed to play an important role in emergency nuclear power plant shutdowns by preventing the blowdown of the steam generators and maintaining their capability to remove heat from the reactor primary loop and the reactor core. The valves were purchased for use at Taishan 1&2, Chinese EPR reactors that are currently under construction in Guangdong Province, and scheduled for commercial operation in 2013 and 2014.
